Congrats Brandon and Brooke!  We're so happy for you and the arrival of baby Betty!

Questions and advice from Aunt Susan

Brooke, tell us about yourself. Where did you grow up? What's your family like? Do you have siblings?

How did it feel to find out you were pregnant? What was your reaction? 

Brandon, what was your reaction when you found out?

How did you decide on the name Betty? (Kim asked the same question - see the reply in the comments section of Kim's video

Tell us about your pregnancy. Were you really sick in the beginning? Have you had any weird symptoms you weren't expecting? 

What have you done to get ready for the birth? Brandon, what do you think your reaction will be?

If there is a section where we give advice I have some, but the number one piece of advice I'd pass on is very practical:

Go pee before getting the baby. In the middle of the night, no matter how hard she is crying GO PEE FIRST. Especially if you are planning to breastfeed. It's tough to get all situated to feed a baby when your bladder feels like exploding.

We are part of the SoCal fam. So excited for Brooke and Brandon and can't wait to meet Brooke and this new little nugget coming in May.

We have obviously known B his whole life, but we really got to know him when he and Ash were both going to UCLA... Go Bruins! He would come stay with us on weekends or just come hang out for the day. He was always helping Mom around the house, which was awesome. He'd take out the trash or just go out back and start sweeping up the leaves. We loved having him around. We are so happy for him and excited for him to start this next chapter as Daddy B.

Hi, I'm Brandon's cousin, Rachel. I'm Aunt Lori's daughter. My husband Alan and I live in Utah and as you can see, I'm having a baby soon, too!

A story about Brandon, hmmm. I remember when I was little, I thought he looked a lot like Christian Bale (don't ask, I was weird). So I would call him that a lot!

One Christmas he had me for the cousin gift exchange and he got me an awesome book, wherein he wrote a short message saying, "Merry Christmas, child," or something to that extent, The best part though was the fact that he signed it, "Your cousin, Brandon (a.k.a. Christian Bale)" Made my Christmas that year for sure.

Hey Brandon and Brooke. Congratulations on little Betty! Looking forward to meeting you, Brooke and seeing Brandon again, and Whitney is excited to meet y'all. Had to throw the Texas twang in there ha!

The Heiny Family

Hey, Brans and Brooke. We are the Heinys minus one - cousin Cheyne, Aunt Pam, and Uncle Chris. Cousin Bryan lives w/his girlfriend about 5 miles from us. Aunt Pam is Brandon's father's youngest sister.

We are sports fans! All sports, all the time. Some might think we live in a sports bar without the "bar." You might have noticed the UCLA games versus Cinni is in the background - losing right now. We all have UCLA moving on in the NCAA tourney so are hopeful that the final score will be a WIN!

Brandon memories are mostly around sports - Cheyne is the bracket king who puts volleyball, badminton, or horseshoe tournaments together for family reunions. I'm pretty sure he and B won a volleyball tournament once, so there is an all-time family rule that they cannot be partners ever again.

Once when B was about 3, his family came to visit and that puppy dog you see in his picture, Woofer, was left at our house. B's parents called in a panic, I guess the ride home and first night without him did not go well. I overnighted Woofer home and all was well. Not too many things came between him and Woofer!!

Hi Brooke & Brandon! First off, a big congratulations!! We are so excited for you guys. Just wanted to introduce ourselves. We are the Jacksons - I am Stephanie, Brandon's cousin. My husband, Chris, and I live in Fruita, Colorado with our two boys, Ethan and Ayden . The video below contains my Brandon memory. We look forward to one day meeting you both and, obviously, seeing Brandon again. Much love!!
